About the Owner
My name is Stefan, and I call a quiet, picturesque corner of the Vratsa province my home. It is an unpretentious, rural area where I can truly appreciate the peace of my surroundings. Although I am an interpreter with technical english by profession and engineer by education, my heart has been captivated by history and numismatics since 2008. I began actively collecting, researching, and identifying coins in 2017, and this lifelong dedication eventually led me to open the doors to Coinantiquariat in 2023.
My fascination with uncovering forgotten currencies has taken me on adventures far beyond my quiet home. I have travelled to countries like France, Spain, Italy, Germany, and even as far as Singapore and Thailand to study their numismatic heritage. Over the years, I have spent countless hours wandering through European antique fairs, bustling flea markets, quiet antique shops, and auction houses. Along the way, I have gathered not only rare coins and tokens but also a wealth of hard-to-find antiquarian books, ancient scrolls, and historical chronicles.
My true expertise, and where my passion shines brightest, lies in medieval coinage, such as historic thalers and islamic coins, alongside rare antique silver rings and roman pieces. I am also continually working in the background to expand my cabinet with new collections found in the most peculiar places in Bulgaria.
