Description
This authentic 1918 German 5 Pfennig emergency coin (Kriegsgeld) was issued by the Oberamt district of Oberndorf in the Kingdom of Württemberg. The obverse displays the denomination number 5 Pf. centrally, surrounded by the German lettering O.A. OBERNDORF, denoting the administrative authority (Oberamt). The reverse features a shield depicting an eagle and a staff or crosier, representing the local coat of arms, alongside the text KRIEGS GELD and the commemorative year 1918. Oberndorf am Neckar, situated in the Black Forest region of Württemberg, was a historically significant industrial center, particularly known for its armaments manufacturing, notably the Mauser factory.
