Description
1886 commemorative medal marking the 50th anniversary of the CStV Uttenruthia Erlangen University fraternity. The obverse bears the calligraphic motto FROHLICH • FROMM • FREI • FRISCH (“Happy • Pious • Free • Fresh”). The reverse features the inscription 50 JAHRIGES STIFTUNGSFEST DER VERBINDUNG UTTENRUTHIA V. 10–12. AUGUST 1886 (“50th Founding Festival of the Uttenruthia Fraternity from 10–12 August 1886”) within a circular border. Issued to celebrate the half-century existence of one of Germany’s traditional student fraternities.
